Kenny reports that Crown the Cat came back fairly well from her race on Sunday. She was apparently in good spirits around the barn and had a bit more energy that usual following a race. This was to be expected due to the fact that she had over six weeks off.
As for the race, she basically ran her race but ran into a pretty tough one in the form of Ms. Cecile. Mike Chambers was winning at 40% this winter/spring at Turf Paradise and although he hasn’t run many horses here, he’s capable of running off long winning streaks. The filly he had here was a couple of class levels above this group and it showed.
Cat ran well to finish third, only beaten for second by about a length and a half. You can check out all race replays at www.canterburypark.com under the live racing page click on race replays.
The racing office brought back a $10,000 N2L race for Saturday, but Kenny thought it would be too tough on her to come back with only five days rest. We’ll wait for the next race to come around. In the meantime, Kenny said he may try and take Crown the Cat for a swim in the equine pool later in the week. If he does, we’ll be sure to get some video to post on the blog.
Good Race for a hot day.
She looked great at the end! Enjoy your swim Cat!
