We wanted to let you know that Clay tried to claim Hammer’s Bullet from the third race at Churchill today but again we lost the shake.
Clay had the horse last year, won with him here, and thought he would work here against some easier competition.
We don’t necessarily need another horse but this one would have fit very well in Shakopee and the opportunity was there so we let Clay take a shot.
Are there others Clay has owned who also fall into the category and, if so, will he continue to look at those. With 140 members of the club, three horses does not seem unreasonable to me. Or does three horses stretch us financially?
James – Not sure. Clay had specifically mentioned this horse awhile ago and when it came up he decided to take a chance. He has not mentioned anything similar about any other runners.
Three horses isn’t completely unreasonable, Jeff and I went over the numbers before we made the decision to let Clay go ahead with the plan.
More horses = more fun. Not in the club for the money.
