Today the Club claimed Miz Owell, a 6-year old E Dubai mare out of the Mizzen Mast mare Mizzenkey.
Miz Owell stalked the pace in the $10,000 grass race going 7.5 furlongs and stormed away in the lane to take the win.
The victory was the 5th lifetime for Miz Owell and her second in a row after taking a $7500 claiming race at Laurel.
She comes from the barn of Joe Sharp, a multiple graded stakes winning conditioner, and looked fantastic on and off the track – the horse, not the trainer…though he did put out a smoldering cigarette next to the bridle path on the way out to the track in an heroic effort!
We’ll get her back to the barn and see how she comes back and then we’ll look at where she goes next but the way she ran I can see possibly bumping her up a bit in class. She’s proven she can handle a mile and a 1/16th which gives us some added flexibility.
Congratulations and good luck!!
She looked good – we were at the track!!
I’m so excited that we have a horse. Great race!!! Hopefully, she will do great for us!!
I noticed that race and horse in the Daily Entries. On paper sure looks like a great pick-up. I believe that is the 1st time we have owned a New York bred. Plus we can now use a WWE catch phrase.
“I’m the Miz and I am awesome!”
Is it possible to get a lifetime PP for review?
Yes. We’ll probably have that on Wednesday or Thursday.
