Hard to imagine things going better than they did yesterday. Belle broke well, stalked the early pace and, under a patient ride from Orlando Mojica, found room in the lane and just blasted off to win by 4 3/4 lengths.
Kudos go out to Nevada and Veronica Litfin and team for getting her back on track – so to speak. She was ready to roll and roll she did. Also a very nice job by Orlando biding his time, keeping her relaxed, then finding a way through when the rail didn’t open up and letting her loose.
We’ll see how she came out of the race, let her get back to work and see what races remain in the meet. Providing all is well and we get a race that fits, we may be able to get one more start in before the meet ends.
Here is the chart of the race: CBY081317USA9
Congratulations everybody! Photos will be available downstairs in the track photographer’s office starting Thursday evening after 6:00 PM.
This was such an amazing race! Great Job Belle!!! Two requests. 1. Can we get an updated lifetime PP for Belle. I would love to see all her numbers on one page including the 4 races we have with her. 2. We need Orlando back riding Belle next time out. He did an amazing job.
So exciting to win again. Thanks to all – Litfins and Orlando. And of course Belle!!!
What a great effort by Belle! It was so much fun seeing her find an opening and pull away from the rest of the field. Congrats to the whole team. Great job!
I had to watch the race online and Orlando handled her perfectly. I thought we may have trouble when the rail got shut off but he pulled Belle through the to the outside and that was the race.
We sure got to go through the range of emotions in the club this year.
Thank to all involved
If the Racing Club still owns Brilliant Belle at the end of the Canterbury meet, where does Nevada go for fall racing? Will she go with him or will she go with Clay Brinson to Hawthorne in Chicago? Just curious.
She’ll go with Nevada to Kentucky (Keeneland and Churchill) as long as she can handle it.
