Mr. Ark was a flat fourth last night in his second Canterbury start for the Club.  He was well positioned in the race but when the steaming hot jock Ry Eikleberry asked him to move, he had nothing.  He came up tired.

Ark is tall but he is slightly built and may not be built for the rigors of racing on only 12 days rest.  Additionally, he may need a longer race.  Though he has won sprints in the past, it could be that the early speed needed at Canterbury in sprint races leaves him too tired to make a run.

He’ll off 3 weeks before his next race which could be a distance over the turf course.

I NEVER GIVE UP IN THURSDAY

I Never Give Up will take on 9 fillies and mare on the turf Thursday night.  They’ll be going about one mile with Ry Eikleberry aboard.  She drew post 5, right in the middle, for the maiden special weight.  Estimated post time is 7:33 with Group 4 in the paddock.
