There is a month to go left to renew or sign up for the 2019 Canterbury Racing Club.  The deadline is February 28, 2019.

Here are the guidelines:

Members pay $250 to join the Club. There are no additional fees.

Members receive admission to Canterbury Park for the entire 66-day season as well as, if available, a special location to gather on race day, rotating paddock access and – if the Club experiences success – access to the Winners’ Circle following the race. You also will have the opportunity to join a backstretch tour during the season and visit the barns.

This is a not for profit venture, offering an educational experience to familiarize members with the ins and outs of racehorse ownership and “pull back the curtain”, if you will, to de-mystify the sport.

Once the enrollment period ends, the Club’s trainers will begin to search the country for potential horses to bring to Canterbury Park. You will learn more about that process and many other aspects of ownership as days go by.

Our trainers this year are Minnesotan Nevada Litfin and five time national leading trainer in wins, Karl Broberg.

If you’re renewing, please let either Jeff (jmaday@canterburypark.com) or Ted (ted@grevelisracing.com) know – even if you won’t have your money in for a few weeks.  We’d like to get a rough headcount to know what we’ll have to work with this coming season.

The Club trainers for 2019 are all set: Nevada Litfin, who picked more earnings in a season last year than any Club trainer, will return while nationally renowned trainer Karl Broberg joins the Club team for the first time.

New to the Racing Club, Broberg has been the leading trainer in the country in terms of wins every year since 2014.  Last year Broberg amassed 509 wins and over $8 million in purse earnings while clicking along at a 28% win percentage and hitting the board just under 60% of the time.  Broberg hasn’t missed a beat this year with 14 wins in 45 starts for a 31% win percentage and is a master playing the claiming game.

It should be an exciting year this year and you can participate for $250 with no additional funds for the remainder of the year.  You can get more specifics here and sign up there or below.
