There is no time left to procrastinate! Though we are in the midst of the snowiest Minnesota February on record and the meet is still more than 70 days away, the deadline for joining this year’s edition of the Canterbury Racing Club is one week away. Once we close up and get the final accounting going it will be too late for the year and it will be too late!
Here is a quick run down:
Members pay $250 to join the Club. There are no additional fees.
Members receive admission to Canterbury Park for the entire 66-day season as well as, if available, a special location to gather on race day, rotating paddock access and – if the Club experiences success – access to the Winners’ Circle following the race. You also will have the opportunity to join a backstretch tour during the season and visit the barns.
This is a not for profit venture, offering an educational experience to familiarize members with the ins and outs of racehorse ownership and “pull back the curtain”, if you will, to de-mystify the sport.
Once the enrollment period ends, the Club’s trainers will begin to search the country for potential horses to bring to Canterbury Park. You will learn more about that process and many other aspects of ownership as days go by.
