We’ll start with the not so good news. Karl was looking to claim Stephen’s Answer last night. He ran a really good race, showed speed and grit and finished strongly to prevail by a head. Unfortunately, three other trainers had the same idea and all four of us filled out claim slips on her. That lead to a “shake”.
If you recall from the claiming video posted earlier, four numbered balls were dropped into a jug, the numbers matching up with the claim slips. The just is shaken and the first ball out wins the horse. In this case, the horse went to owner Rodney Miller and trainer Troy Bethke. We wish them the best and we’ll continue to look for that second horse.
Laura Ray came out of her race really well. She bounced back quickly, which was to be expected out of a bit of a layoff, and Nevada feels that she’s ready to go. We entered her today for Thursday night. The race filled and will go as the fourth race on the card.
She’s moving up slightly to a $10,000 claiming race going 7 1/2 furlongs over the turf. She will be breaking from post 2 with Eddie Martin Jr. aboard. Thursday looks to be sunny and 71 so we should stay on the turf. Paddock group 2 will be up.
We’ll preview the race on Wednesday.
Good luck!
Just bet on Ender and won! Excited to hear we claimed him! What an exciting runner!
