Laura Ray is settling in to the new barn nicely. Not much to not like about her: she’s healthy, sound and consistent on the racetrack.
Nevada will be evaluating her this week and we’ll start looking for a race. She has some options: we could come back in the same type of spot ($7500 claiming), push up a little ($10,000 claiming) or try a $5000 starter (for horses that have started for a claiming price for $5000 and less in the last year/year and a half) – all on the grass.
Karl is focusing on a dirt or flexible (both surfaces) horse for his barn. We spoke yesterday and he’s very anxious to find what he feels will be the right horse for the Club. While it’s said that patience is a virtue, it is a necessity in racing and I have confidence that he will find us something shortly.
Looking forward to watching her race!
