Great! I saw him in the race out of which we claimed him at Canterbury on May 31st and was impressed with his determination to hit the wire first. Thanks to Clay, Ted, Heather, all the gang.
How many members do we have this year?
It looks like we checked in at 154 this season. About 50 less than last season.
Ran 3rd to G1 winner The Pizza Man in grass debut 🙂
They sure ran the heck out of him in 2013. Not so much in 2014 and YTD. Is that a point of concern?
We did talk about that gap. Best guess was that there may have been a chip or something that needed removing. If he came back as less than his former self by way of a dramatically reduced claiming tag, we would have passed. Since they brought him back at $25,000 and he’s run credibly since his return – including yesterday’s win – we felt he was okay.
