Bam Posts Maintenance Drill

Great Bam went out to the track for an easy work this morning covering four furlongs in 50.20. The worked ranked as the 9th fastest of 20 recorded at the distance. Clay is just trying to keep him sharp at this point in the hopes that an extra pops up in the coming days. Stay tuned!

  1. Does anyone know or have any idea how “Great Bam” got his name?
I wonder what Clay calls him around the barn – just Bam?

  2. I see there continues to be difficult news from Hawthorne about the Equine Herpesvirus that is affecting horses at the track. The horses are now forbidden to leave the track. Has this problem gotten closer to Great Bam’s and Clay Brinson’s barn? I suspect that this problem could effect the price we could get for Bam if the outbreak continues. He could be sold to someone at Hawthorne but when the meet is over he may not be able to leave. Is this something we should be more concerned about?

    • Clay has still reported no issues on this front in his barn. Obviously there is reason to be concerned; however, there isn’t too much that can be done. We will attempt to gather more information and provide a more thorough update once we can learn a little more about exactly what the new developments mean.

  3. Question – I just checked the entries for the 30th. The 7th race is an allowance for 3yo and up at 6 furlongs but I don’t see that Bam is entered. Have plans changed or is there another race next weekend that he may be in? Thanks.
